AutoSplash is operated by AutoSplash, a company registered in South Africa. We build and maintain the AutoSplash mobile application ("the App"), a real-time car wash discovery platform.

a) Account Information

When you register, we collect:

• Full name
• Email address
• Password (encrypted, never stored in plain text)
• Profile photo (optional)

b) Location Data

• Precise GPS location (only while using the App, or in the background if you grant permission)
• Used solely to show nearby car washes and estimate distances

c) Usage Data

• Pages and features you interact with
• Search queries within the App
• Time and frequency of App use
• Device type, OS version, and App version

d) User-Submitted Reports

• Busyness ratings and queue time reports you submit
• Timestamps of those submissions

e) Communications

• Messages sent to us via Contact Us or support channels

We use your data to:

• Show you nearby car washes based on your location
• Create and manage your account
• Display and improve busyness and queue-time reports
• Send important service updates and notifications
• Respond to support queries
• Improve App performance and fix bugs
• Comply with our legal obligations under POPIA

We do not:

• Sell your personal information to any third party
• Use your data for unrelated advertising
• Share your precise location with car wash operators

We process your personal information under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) on the following grounds:

• Contract: Processing is necessary to provide the App services you signed up for
• Legitimate interest: To improve the App and prevent fraud
• Consent: For optional features such as marketing notifications (you may withdraw consent at any time)

We do not sell your data. We may share it with:

Service Providers

Third-party providers who help us operate the App (e.g. cloud hosting, analytics, push notifications). They are contractually bound to process data only on our instruction.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your data if required by South African law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of AutoSplash and its users.

Business Transfer

If AutoSplash is acquired or merges with another entity, your data may be transferred. You will be notified in advance.

• Account data is retained for as long as your account is active
• If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days
• Anonymised, aggregated usage data (not linked to you) may be retained indefinitely for analytics

As a data subject you have the right to:

• Delete your account and associated personal data
• Object to processing based on legitimate interest
• Withdraw consent for optional processing at any time

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Encrypted password storage
• Access controls limiting who can view personal data
• Regular security reviews

No system is 100% secure. If a data breach occurs that affects your rights, we will notify you as required by POPIA.

AutoSplash is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has registered, contact us and we will delete the account immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
